I am a clay artist based in Alvin, Texas whose artwork explores cultural identity and social justice. I am originally from the Andes Mountains of Ecuador, South America from where I immigrated to the US about 20 years ago. During my artistic trajectory I has been a musician and ceramist and I have performed at a variety of events and festivals and presented my artwork at various galleries and collective shows. I am co-founder of Colectivo Wajabal, a multidisciplinary cultural collective that focuses on the creation of opportunities for learning and dialogue within the Latino community, rooted in their traditions and open to the inclusion of the diversity of our multicultural environment.
I believe that the purpose of education is the transformation of society in a process through which higher human values are transferred to the new generation and improved upon with the goal of elevating our human condition.
